GPS Delivers 2500kW of Standby Diesel Power to Utah Data Center

Global Power Supply is proud to announce that it has completed the delivery of a new MTU 2500 kW standby diesel generator to Flexential’s “Delong” data center in Utah. The new unit adds capacity to a previously installed MTU genset and utilizes MTU’s 20V4000 series engine. The 20V4000 engine is uniquely capable of providing 100% nameplate power with no de-rate, even at Salt Lake City’s 4,300 foot high elevation.

Delong boast of 33,386 square feet raised floor with Multiple redundant fiber optic telecommunication networks delivered via Telcordia/Bellcore standards with diverse conduit and entrance facilities. Additionally, the facility offers 3,500 kVA of redundant UPS and a fully redundant cooling plant.

GPS was awarded the project based on a design-build quotation which included multiple gensets installed over the course of several years. In addition to furnishing the equipment our scope also included freight and logistics, startup, commissioning, onsite assembly, and additional site services. GPS worked closely with Flexential’s design team and contractors through a detailed submittals review process.
